Evangelism/Social Outreach

Living Springs is committed to making a difference in the world. We partner and work with the following organizations, and perform the following outreach ministries:

  • Delivering Meals on Wheels on Monday & Tuesday each week
  • Backpack Project – packing 50 bags of non-perishable food items for needy children every week on Thursday @ 5:30 p.m. during the school year.
  • Collection of toiletries for the Women’s Shelter
  • Women’s Book Club:  meets at a member’s home six times a year on a Monday night @ 7 p.m
  • We have a team that “mugs” first-time visitors with a coffee mug full of information about Living Springs
  • God’s Storehouse (a bridge for those in need):  different events during the year contribute to this organization

Special events sponsored by the Evangelism/Social Outreach Ministry include:

  • Participation in Operation Inasmuch:  Jesus said in essence, “Inasmuch as you serve the least of these, you serve me.”…a SC Synod event that helps churches move out of their seats and into the streets to serve their neighbors in need
  • “Pew Bear” Ministry:  Our Pew Bear will be sitting with us in church, and soaking in God’s love to be shared with those who are hurting for any reason
  • Good News Walkers:  Thursday morning @ 8:30 am we say a little devotion and then go out into neighborhoods and distribute church flyers spreading the “good news” of the Lord
  • Lenten fish fry on Friday’s during Lent:  starting after Ash Wednesday, we offer the best fish fry in NE Columbia – 5 to 7:30 p.m
  • Mother’s Day: each woman at Rice Estate receives a bud vase with a flower in it
  • Father’s Day: each gentleman at Rice Estate receives a bud vase with a flower in it
  • August:  Collection of school supplies for the needy students at surrounding elementary schools
  • Trunk or Treat night in October:  a joint effort with our preschool to reach out to the community with a safe and fun event
