This day is an opportunity to celebrate who we are as the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America – one church, freed in Christ to serve and love our neighbor. All life in Jesus Christ – every act of service, in every daily calling, in every corner of life – flows freely from a living, daring confidence in God’s grace. The theme is how do you make “your community” a better place?! Here is what Living Springs is doing to carry out that theme:
From 9:30 – 10:30, gather in the fellowship hall for two big projects!
E Cookie Monster (800 cookies) – make, bake and decorate cookies for Palmetto Place Children & Youth Services, first responders at three of our local fire stations, sheriff department headquarters, Meals on Wheels clients and the Campus Ministry students.
E Because YOU Matter Lunches for the Homeless (50 sandwiches) – prepare sandwiches for those experiencing homelessness.
Other teams needed for the day!
E Cookie Delivery – Anytime after 9:45 through Sunday afternoon, 1-2 person teams to deliver cookies to Palmetto Place Children & Youth Services, first responders at three of our local fire stations, sheriff’s department
E Sandwich Delivery – Between 10:30 and early afternoon, 4-5 persons to deliver sandwiches to Finley Park/downtown.
E Campus Ministry Meal Prep – 12:15ish prepare tacos for Lutheran Campus Ministry
E Campus Ministry Meal Delivery – need several people to deliver meals (can be taken home then delivered) by 5 pm to 1702 Greene Street
In addition to the above, the Hope Team is organizing a group to provide Mr. Albert Huggins (one of our Meals on Wheels clients) with an exterior front door. If you are interested, see Jeff Lummel.
Monetary donations are also needed and welcome for any of the above projects. Checks payable to Living Springs, put GWOH in the memo or give through the Givelify app.
