This Sunday, we gather in our sanctuary now decorated for this joyful season, and we light the 2nd Advent candle to continue prepare our hearts for Christ’s coming. We worship Sunday morning at 8:15 & 10:30 – and then Sunday afternoon, the entire congregation is invited for a time of singing and fellowship with our Eggnog & Carols celebration. We’ll have refreshments and a special ornament for each person or family to add to our outdoor tree as a beacon of hope for all passing by. Daily Advent e-devotions are arriving as beacons of hope in our email, along with at-home Advent resources for families, youth, & children. The entire congregation is preparing for the Outdoor Nativity Dec. 18 & 19 – so sign up, there is something for everyone! Please support our Youth with their Cocoa Cones & Christmas Ornament projects; and don’t forget the special ways to share God’s hope with our Advent food boxes, World Hunger Good Gifts, and Christmas Dove Tree for children/youth in need. This Sunday, the words of John ring out, “Prepare the Way of the Lord!” and Zechariah declares, “the tender compassion of our God breaks upon us .. to guide our feet into the way of peace.” St. Paul writes: “I thank my God every time I remember you, constantly praying with joy!” We do give thanks to God for you – and the joy you bring to this world as living beacons of God’s hope every day.
