As we move deeper into summer, we see the growing green of creation around us – and are reminded of our focus on “God’s growing hope” in our lives and for the world. Truly, it is the presence of Christ and the power of God’s all-conquering love that give us hope through all life’s challenges and joys! Today (Saturday), 10 LS adults headed out for a 4-day summer Mission Experience – and then tomorrow (Sunday), our youth will depart for their 5-day Mission experience. Both groups will be together for a shared experience on Monday evening & Tuesday morning. Please keep in prayer these siblings in Christ who venture out to grow together in God’s hope! There will be a special sending blessing for our youth at the 8:15 service Sunday – everyone come worship early if you can. Then, at 9:20, for our 2nd Summer Hope Sunday, our Adult Group will log live onsite to share some of their experience. If you can’t be here in the fellowship hall at 9:20, here is the GoogleMeet link: https://meet.google.com/zkz-tzgp-seu Especially here in summer, don’t forget our 10:30 Worship continues to be live-streamed. Spread the word to family & friends. We have our joyful pre-worship Summer Hymn Sings at 8:05 and 10:20. Mark your calendar for our big LS “Christmas in July” Celebration on July 16. There will be a Christmas-themed unity worship at 10:30, followed by a fellowship lunch. Our “Christmas in July” hope tree collection for Transitions Homeless Ministry is also underway. This Sunday, Jesus confronts those who work to find fault with all the ways God is expanding the Kingdom and bringing hope into more lives in new & different ways. The apostle Paul does some honest wrestling with the tension we have as humans who often act in ways we know are not best to reflect God’s grace & love. But the Psalmist reminds us that through it all, “the LORD is gracious & full of compassion, slow to anger, good to all, and abounding in steadfast love!” May the steadfast love of the Lord fill your heart as we prepare to gather & worship on this Lord’s Day! Christ’s peace! #SundayWorship
