On this weekend of Reformation Sunday, we remember how Martin Luther took bold steps 506 years ago to the cathedral door in Wittenberg, Germany– to post 95 theses that would eventually call the church and world back to the truth of faith that we are saved by God’s grace alone! On Sunday, we witness 6 youth taking next bold steps in their Journey with Jesus! Alyssa, Dallas, Josh, Lucas, Parker, and Wesley will step to the altar to affirm their Baptism and make confirmation promises to God. 8:15 worship is offered, but as much as possible, we encourage everyone to come worship at 10:30, to offer prayers, love, and support for these 6 young disciples. Prior to worship, starting at 10:15, we will share their faith videos; and during worship, there will be special music by the JuBELLation Handbells and Deacon Lexanne with our LS choir. Sunday afternoon, our Trunk R Treat festival will be from 4:00-6:30. Come decorate your trunks or truck beds. There will be a Bouncy House & SnoCones, as well as Lutheran Men Bratwursts, side dishes, and Martin Luther with his Reformation door! Spread the word to family, neighbors, and friends! We are in the midst of our “Next Step in Generosity” focus. We hope everyone got your special thank-you texts on Tuesday & Thursday, with links to heart-touching videos from Garrett Flores & the Smith family. Sunday’s Generosity moment is shared by Andrew Levitt, Anna Graves & Lauren Bloss. We’ll be distributing Intent Cards & Prayer Envelopes, in preparation for Intent Sunday, Nov. 12. We had some amazing moments of God’s hope this past week – with Gia Gonzalez & our Mental-Emotional Wellness workshop, Sunday backpack food packing, 325 hope bags passed out at Rush Hour ministry, and a moving JV season-ending football devotion ministry. We think about the boldness of Martin Luther sharing a message of God’s grace long ago – and all the ways we continue to be bold people of faith sharing God’s grace in a troubled & hurting world. Sunday, we share Paul’s words from Romans 3 that inspired Luther long ago … “for there is no distinction, since all have sinned & fall short of the glory of God, we are now justified by God’s grace as a gift!” Yes, we look forward to being together Reformation Sunday to celebrate God’s gift of amazing grace! #SundayWorship
