“Guided to the Cross!” Here in our 40-day Lenten journey, we find so much meaning in all the special devotions and worship times that open our hearts even more fully to God’s amazing love & grace for each of us and all humanity – as poured out for us all by Jesus upon his cross! A number of folks said they were deeply moved by Pastor Eric’s dramatic sharing of the thief on the cross at last Wednesday evening’s service, “Guided to Hope.” If you missed it, Wed. worship is still posted on our LS YouTube channel – and we encourage you to share it with others. Next Wednesday at 6:30, Seminarian Jace Martinez will be sharing – with the theme, “Guided to Love.” Mid-day Lenten prayer worship is also offered on Wednesdays at noon, with optional communion afterward. Don’t forget our weekly “Journey with Jesus” devotion readings, posted online every Wednesday, as we explore the parables of Jesus. Be sure to pass along all these powerful moments on all your social media – as well as our Sunday morning Lenten worship experiences! You should be receiving your daily 8:34 am prayer e-mails: if not, just call the office so we can add you to the list. Also, on Tuesdays at 8:34pm, there is a day-end discussion online to reflect on our daily Lenten devotions (meet.google.com/bxg-ezfy-nyi or call 720-307-7983 PIN: 725 764 085#). If you haven’t picked up your daily Lenten devotion book or prayer cross, there are still a few remaining at church. Our awesome Lenten Fish Fry series continues every Friday night. Blue Collar Café food truck will be in the parking lot from 5-7. You can drive thru & pick up food to go, or take it inside to eat. We also have desserts. Spread the word to neighbors & friends as we seek to raise at least $4000 for our Gamecock Campus ministry that touches many young lives. And, remember our big 40×40 Lenten collection for Lutheran Services welcome kits. Our goal is 1600 total items – the list is your e-news. This weekend, our Handbell choir is traveling to Lutheridge for a weekend workshop – and our youth are traveling to West Virginia for their annual ski retreat. Please hold both these groups in prayer for meaningful experiences and a safe return home! On this 2nd Sunday in Lent, the Gospel reading lifts up Mark 8:34, our theme verse for this season: “if any want to become my followers, let them deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me!” Oh, what a blessing to hear the Spirit’s call to follow Jesus in his path of love for all the world. May Jesus’ invitation truly inspire us – as we prepare to worship together this Sunday! Christ’s peace!
