12th Sunday After Pentecost On this 12 th Sunday after Pentecost, we are blessed with special music from Disciples of Harmony – and we are very excited to kick off our new G.I.F.T. Worship Experience that will make worship even more special for all children & parents. We hear Jesus speak about the power of a humble life – and the grace of God’s invitation that exalts the lowliest among us (Luke 14:1,7-14), echoing the Old Testament lesson from Proverbs 25:6-7. Our New Testament lesson from Hebrews 13:1-8,15-16 begins with the powerful words, “Let mutual love continue. Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers…” and also includes these words of great promise, “For the Lord has said, ‘I will never leave you or forsake you..’ So we can say with confidence, ‘the Lord is my helper, I will not be afraid!’” What an incredible time we shared last weekend. 34 volunteers helped with our Stuff-a-Bus – generating over $1000 for Backpack Food & 2 buses packed with food items & paper products. The joy at Rally Day was tremendous – with Hope Scriptures & Son-glasses, powerful Faith Sharing & our Hope procession to Hardscrabble Rd. If you missed it, be sure to look it up on YouTube & Facebook. We continue all that energy with our Ministry Sign-ups still in the fellowship hall. Walk in before or after worship to be part of all the ways God is calling you to share hope with others – helping with worship, disciples helping disciples, football ministry, Palmetto Place/Children’s Hospital meals, Good News walkers, Bible Studies, our upcoming Six Weeks on Money course, and so much more. This Sunday, at 9:20, we have an Info/Training Session for everyone who can help in any of our Sunday Worship roles – and at 11:45, we also have Child Protection Training for parents & anyone who volunteers with children & youth. And, if you’ve missed either of the last 2 Sundays, be sure to come pick up your Romans 15 Hope Songlasses or your SchoolBag hope tags this week. Help spread the word, as we gather to worship in joy this weekend! #SundayWorship
