5th Sunday of Easter 2021

Here in spring, on this 5th Sunday of Easter, Jesus uses images of creation to bring us hope:  Jesus is the vine and we are the branches, with God the Creator as the vinegrower.  Pastor Carl has an inspiring message about being branches, with God as our vinedresser.  I will share a special Children’s Message, with a blessing for Seminarian Isaac as he departs for summer chaplaincy work in California.  We hear beautiful words of hope from I John 4: “Beloved, let us love one another, because love is from God… we love because God first loved us …God is love!”  If you were not here last Sunday for our Hope Kickoff, be sure to come pick up your HOPE Menu Card and little lighthouse HOPE beacon.  Pick 3 items from the menu to be your 3-course meal of HOPE for God’s work in your life, as we embrace the call to be formed & grounded in God’s hope, to be equipped with God’s hoping-coping skills for life, and to be God’s active hope-agents in our daily lives!  There will be a special Hope Prayer Station, for your personal prayers of hope as well.

Christ Is Risen Indeed!  Alleluia!
