Here in the new Epiphany Season, we celebrate the light of God’s love revealed for each of us – and all peoples – through Jesus, our grace-filled Savior & Lord. This Sunday, we celebrate the Baptism of our Lord Jesus. We hear how the Holy Spirit appeared at the Jordan River and the voice from heaven affirmed Jesus as God’s beloved Son. We celebrate how God affirms and claims each of us as God’s own child in our Baptism, also with the gift of the Holy Spirit in our lives. During worship, we celebrate our 2022 Council Installation and join in Affirmation of Baptism as God’s people. We also resume our tradition of offering a blessing prior to worship for everyone whose Baptismal anniversary falls in the week. Be sure to read your LS Journal (which Lisa emailed Thursday) for more details about celebrating your Baptismal Anniversary in 2022. If you don’t know your Baptismal date, we can help with some options. This Sunday, words of the Lord from Isaiah ring out in our hearts: “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you, I have called you by name, you are mine!” We look forward to worshipping together, as we celebrate the light of Jesus revealed for us all… #SundayWorship
