How powerful it was to gather as God’s people on Good Friday and carry the large wooden cross on Clemson Road– to remember everything Jesus endured for us that we might have life. If you missed our emotional Maundy Thursday or Good Friday evening worship services, be sure to check them out online. It is the cross that underlies all the joy we’ll share this Easter Weekend! Easter Worship begins on Holy Saturday Evening at 7:45, as we share ancient stories of scripture, affirm our Baptism, and sing the first Alleluia’s of Easter. Then, at 6:45 Sunday morning, we gather for Easter Son-Rise Service, with holy communion on the church lawn. Easter Worship will be in the sanctuary at 8:15 – and then at 10:30, we hold the full Festival Easter Worship Service in the sanctuary, with children’s message and all our special music (JuBELLation Handbells, Disciples of Harmony, Adult Choir). At 10:30, you can also worship from the church lawn, from the parking lot, or online. Pastor Carl and Pastor Eric are so excited about their Easter messages, focusing on the fullness of God’s hope coming out of the shadows to bring joy & life to each of us! At 10:30, Deacon Lexanne also has an inspiring Children/Youth Message. In Luke’s Gospel, God’s messengers tell the women at the tomb, ”Jesus is not here, but has risen! Remember how he told you…” May we each fully remember the Easter Good News that shook the world – to have our own hearts filled with the life-changing power of God’s triumphant love that breaks through every barrier to move us from surviving to thriving and extend the umbrella of God’s H.O.P.E. to all!
