Fourth Sunday In Lent 3/10/24

Sunday Worship – 3/10/24 “Shine God’s Light – God’s Grace for All!” What a joyful Sunday this weekend, as we gather for our Ministry Focus kickoff! On the first day of Daylight Savings, we lift up our call to shine even more light into many lives through the ministry we share as people guided by the cross of Jesus! Sunday, at 10:15, we take our congregation photo – and we ask all members and friends of LS to be there for this special event. We will have symbolic streamers & banners radiating out from the central planter cross, with an overhead drone camera. Handbells will be playing from the portico. We’ll have a joyful outdoor Ministry Focus kickoff – and then move indoors for our 10:30 “Shine God’s Light” worship, with anthem by Disciples of Harmony. From 9:20-10:10, everyone come be part of our brunch fellowship. You’re invited to bring brunch-type items to share if you like – but most importantly, bring yourself! During the fellowship time, we will also have conversations about our upcoming Ministry Focus themes – all based on the Spirit-note responses you shared at our January gathering. If you can’t be there in person, you can use the Adult SS Googlelink to join online (see above). For those who cannot attend the big 10:30 service, there is an 8:15 prayer communion option. But regardless, everyone please be there for the 10:15 congregation photo!!! Here in Lent, our daily 8:34 prayer alerts, at-home devotions, and Wednesday worship times are so meaningful. If you missed this week’s powerful sharing from Dea Jones (as Mary at the cross), it is still posted on Youtube. Next Wednesday at 6:30, Pastor Carl will be sharing with the theme, “Guided to Trust.” Noon worship is also offered Wednesdays, with communion option. Tonight is our 4th Friday Fish Fry! Blue Collar Café food truck is in the parking lot from 5-7. Drive thru & pick up food to go, or take it inside to eat. We have $1600 toward our $4000 goal for Gamecock Campus ministry that touches so many lives. Keep spreading the word! And everyone, please make plans to attend our big Nehemiah Justice Assembly on Monday, March 18. Last Sunday, we were so moved by our Lutheridge counselors and duet by Grady/Logan Smith. This Sunday, we focus on one of the most beloved passages of Scripture: for God so loved the world, that God gave us God’s Only Son. We ponder this greatest gift offered for us on the cross -and rejoice in our call to shine the light of God’s love & grace for the world. See you Sunday for the photo at 10:15, fellowship time at 9:20, and the joyful worship we will share!
