Here in June, we continue our focus on God’s growing hope! This weekend, SC Lutheran Christians have been gathered in assembly with the theme, “I SEE Jesus.” We give thanks for all the amazing ways the Holy Spirit works thru the people of Living Springs, in partnership with many other ministries – to grow hope in the world by helping others see Jesus. This week is our first Summer Hope Sunday. At 9:20, we welcome Cassy Shea from Prisma Children’s Hospital, who coordinates Camp Kemo for children with cancer. Don’t miss this opportunity to be inspired by a ministry that grows much hope – and learn more about our LS partnership! Our Summer Hymn Sings return! Prior to worship, call out one of your favorite hymns and we’ll joyfully sing a couple verses together. We start at 8:05 and 10:20, ten minutes prior to worship. We also have a special summer prayer emphasis – so spread the word and invite someone to worship with you! Plans are falling into place for our VBS, June 19-21, and ArtSmart camp, June 26-29. Spread the word to children & youth in your families & neighborhoods. We need lots of help (shepherding children, serving snacks, breakfast and lunch), so please sign-up or call the office. For all helpers, we offer child protection training sessions this Sunday at 11:45ish (after worship) or Tuesday at 10:45 (after Bible study). On Sunday, we hear Jesus breaking through barriers to bring hope to a tax collector, a father whose daughter has died, and a woman suffering 12 long years with a bleeding disorder. Paul breaks through barriers of religious law to affirm that … everything “depends on faith,” he writes, “in order that the promise may rest on grace.” Yes, everything truly rests on the amazing grace of God – we look forward to being together this Sunday, to worship & sing praises to our Lord of grace & love for all. Christ’s peace!
