Sixth Sunday after Pentecost/Christmas in July

Excitement is building for our special “Christmas in July” celebration this Sunday and (amid the ongoing challenges of life in the world) the opportunity to celebrate the good news of God’s love for “all the people” and “a Savior born for you” – Jesus, Emmanuel, God with us! On Sunday, we have Christmas music at both services, with special Christmas handbells at 10:30. We’re overjoyed to celebrate the baptism of little Nicolas Wirth, who was actually born on Christmas Day! Then, at 11:45, everyone is invited to gather in the fellowship hall for fun & light lunch –we’ll sing more Christmas carols, with each person or family invited to work on an ornament for our Chrismon tree. Sandwiches & drinks are provided. Feel free to bring some cookies to share – and bring your favorite or ugly Christmas sweater (no, you don’t have to wear it in the July heat)! We give thanks for all who helped with Graceworks Servant days this past week, plus the refugee children’s event – and all who brought Dove Tree items for the homeless children of Family Promise. This Wednesday, we are serving supper for 175 children & adults, for Family Promise’s Camp Impact. To help out with food or serving, please see your e-news for details. If you can’t be here in person, you can still worship online, or from the parking lot at 10:30. Whatever way is best for you, do be part of this joyous mid-summer Christmas celebration. The angels’ hope-filled words speak to our hearts: “Do not be afraid – for I am bringing you good news of Great joy for all the people: to you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord! …. Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace!” Merry Christmas to you, here in July! #SundayWorship
