Third Sunday in Advent

Rejoice! Prepare the way of the Lord! In these Advent days, Christ truly comes to us in powerful ways, to bring a deep joy & hope in our lives. Sunday, we have our big congregation Emotional-Mental Health & Wellness Gathering in the fellowship hall, starting at 9:20. We encourage everyone to be there, as we share results from our survey, offer seasonal support resources, and discuss how God is calling us to move forward in this important initiative. If you can’t attend in person, see above for virtual/phone link. Sunday afternoon at 5pm, come out for the Children/Youth Christmas program, followed by Spaghetti Supper & Elf Store. As always, it will be wonderful! For everyone who adopted a child or youth from the Dove Giving Tree, please remember to bring your gifts Sunday. Don’t forget our daily Advent e-devotions and our midweek Advent Prayer services, Wednesdays at Noon & 6:30 (see below). If you’ve missed any of these powerful worship experiences, you can still find them posted on our YouTube channel. Plans are coming together for our big Live Outdoor Nativity on Dec. 17 & 18. Everyone’s help is needed – don’t forget to blanket the community with our special invitation cards. Christmas Tree Lot will be open this weekend. Over the years, we’ve often had congregation folks help the youth. With everything they have going on this weekend, they could use some folks. Especially if you could be at the tree lot for an hour or so Saturday, contact Leslie Bloss. It would be a great blessing! On Sunday, we light the 3nd candle of the Advent wreath, with its focus on JOY. We have the joyful sound of our JuBELLation Handbells – and we hear Isaiah’s joyful announcement of God preparing a Holy Highway for God’s people. While in prison, John the Baptist finds joy in Good News about all Jesus is doing to bring healing & hope into people’s lives. May we too be filled with JOY as we continue the Advent journey and look forward to worshipping together Sunday!
