Spark Camp

Every year, we simply do not know what powerful things God will work through our SPARK Camp event at Living Springs.   This year, the Spirit was again working through everything that happened, but I was personally blessed to be involved with our Sr. Youth and see God at work through the 22 amazing young people who participated in the 4 days of SPARK!   Through them, the Spirit was making disciple-dot places here at Living Springs and all over Columbia.   This is what I witnessed God working through these young disciples:

–          Help build a new deck and ramp, plus paint the front porch and staircase for one of our blind Meals-on-Wheels recipients;

–          Cut tree limbs, clear brush, and clean yard for another MOW recipient;

–          Scrape/sand handrails and help with gardening to spruce up the area for Preschoolers;

–          Deliver 18 hot meals to homebound adults, with 2 days of visiting, flowers, cards, and prayer;

–          Distribute 20+ blessing bags to homeless individuals in Finley Park and other random places, including multiple caring conversations and times of mutual prayer;

–          Offer 18 quality-time visits, life-conversations, and prayer for disabled veterans at the Dorn VA Center – sharing music, snack bags, Friendship Blessings, personal thank-you notes, hugs, smiles, and “Happy Birthday” songs;

–          Serve as assistant leaders for Spark music, crafts, drama, and other activities – as well as be ing a “big brother” or “big sister” for preschool-age participants;

–          paint SPARK scenery –and serve as a live “donkey” handler for our animal day;

–          Grow in faith, sharing Scripture and our disciple-dot moments, with reflection on being blessed to be a blessing in the journey of life!
