An omnipresent God is everywhere, even in the pew bear that recently traveled to Birmingham Alabama. God put it on my heart to send the little brown bear to a Down syndrome young adult who was in the hospital, waiting for a decision from the doctor whether to operate or let the wound heal. The decision was to operate. The bear was placed on this young man’s chest and he held onto the bear. After surgery, the bear was put back on his chest. The doctors and nurses marveled at the way this young man clutched the bear. His father said, “Jesus is in that bear.” We never know how God find ways to comfort us—it may come through a bear from Living Springs. Thanks to the pew bear ministry that made it possible for this young man and his family to experience God’s love.
