Each night in our home we have decided to take the FAITH5 Challenge, where we SHARE, READ, TALK, PRAY, BLESS. One night God made an impact on me through my son’s words. He shared his high that week, which was that he liked school and his low, which was that he was picked on by a fellow classmate on the playground. This made him very sad and he wanted it to stop. As his mother, I ached for him. We talked about ways to handle it as I tried to fight back tears. As we read God’s word together as a family, I wondered how God might be able to intervene and protect my son from this boy who was picking on him. Then we talked about how God is active in our highs and lows for the day. And my son said, “I think God is telling me to pray for my friend who was picking on me.” I was so proud that my son chose to pray for his “enemy” and not speak ill of him. God used my son to re-teach me to choose prayer instead of anger as a response to someone who picks on you.
