18th Sunday after Pentecost 10/4/20

This Sunday, we hear Jesus’ parable about a Master who, with much love, created a beautiful vineyard – and how he entrusted that vineyard to specially chosen servants, who then did the unthinkable of trying to claim the vineyard as their own. (Matthew 21:33-46). We ponder how even in challenging times, God has still blessed each of us with the beautiful vineyard of our own lives – and how we have been entrusted by God to manage the vineyard of life to produce the fruit of God’s kingdom-love for all.   The apostle Paul shares very moving words with the early Christians, noting that while he had accomplished much in life, he now considered it all “rubbish” when compared to the “surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord.”  (Philippians 3:4b-14).
