Seventeenth Sunday after Pentecost

Whatever has filled your week, we pray that you have found many reminders of God’s grace in your life! God does love and care for you so very much! There’s a lot of energy & excitement as we continue our “Journey with Jesus” theme. Be sure to check out our Wednesday postings on YouTube and share them with everyone on your social media. This week’s “Journey with Jesus” reader was Charlie Pollard, followed by our new weekly discussions with Pastor Carl, Pastor Eric & Deacon Lexanne. For devotions at home this week, the focus is Matthew 16-17, uplifting Jesus’ identity, purpose & transfiguration. We had some powerful experiences last week, including our Streaming Tech dedication. We welcomed a new refugee family from the Congo at the airport with our bus & welcome banner from our Preschool children. Even though the family could only speak Swahili, they understood love (with tears in their eyes) as the mom held a quilt made by our Crafty Ladies and her 8 children each hugged a LS prayer bear. Don’t forget our ongoing Justice Ministry house gatherings. There is one this Sunday at the Bradhams’ home, and one on Oct. 1 at the Zieches’ home. Mark your calendars for the big anniversary reception on Oct. 1, when we honor 2 amazing staff members, Lisa Petty and Sherry Forsgren. If you would like to contribute to the special love offering, you may do so thru next Wed. Donations can be placed in the Sunday offering or brought to the office, or use our online Givelify app. You can make checks out to Living Springs & mark them “Love offering”. This Sunday, we’re excited to have our annual celebration of Men’s Ministry. There will be sharing from our Lutheran Men & Seminarian Jace, children’s message from Hunter Prest, and special music from Disciples of Harmony. Sunday’s scriptures lift up the amazing wideness of God’s mercy, with Jesus’ parable about a vineyard owner who showed amazing generosity for all his laborers. The words of Psalm 145 echo in our hearts: “Great is the Lord & greatly to be praised … the Lord is gracious & full of compassion, abounding in steadfast love!” We look forward to being together this Sunday to celebrate the amazing love of God! Christ’s peace! #SundayWorship
