Blessed to Be a Blessing

A few years ago, God led me to a childhood friend via Facebook. I have always been amazed by how deep her faith has always been. When we reconnected, she spoke often of her husband who was a long distance truck driver, her four daughters and her love and faith in God.  Her last two daughters were twins, Charity and Chasity.  Chasity has Dystonia (neurological condition causing painful spasms all over the body). She can not speak nor walk and has a trach and feeding tube.  She wasn’t supposed to live 18 days but she has made it 18 years, through the Grace of God and her parents persistence to not give up on her. This family’s life drastically changed almost two years ago when my friends husband was found dead in a truck stop hundreds of miles away.  His death was totally unexpected and the autopsy could not determine the cause of death, yet my friend’s faith never wavered. She trusted God and His plan.  Following his death, the family relocated to be closer to the hospital where Chasity could get the best care (From SC to Ohio). Recently my friend posted on Facebook that she wished she had a teddy bear to hug at night in hopes that it would help her not miss her husband as much.  The Spirit spoke to me in that message saying that our pew bear ministry may bring her comfort. Below is what she posted on Facebook after receiving the bear…” A friend messaged me Sunday & asked for my address because she wanted to send me something. Today in the mail, I received a Beautiful Teddy Bear and a book w/ a note that read…after reading my post Saturday night..she thought this might bring me some comfort ..
My post said ..”I wish I had a Teddy Bear!”..I use to write that or “where is my teddy bear” especially on weekends ..I miss Bruce so badly.. I let Chasity hold it and automatically she claimed it. Lol..not only that..she hugged it..clamped her hands together hugging it..and fell asleep hugging it..(she rarely naps)..AMAZING IN ITSELF.” I was so happy that this bear which had sat in the pew at LSLC could bring comfort and joy to my friend and her daughter. Recently this friend posted this…. “My life may have & be Stressed but My life is also nothing short of Blessed” -giving me something to think about- Blessed to be a Blessing.
