God led me to ship a Pew Bear to a friend who is out of state, doesn’t have a church home, and is heading into her second surgery for breast cancer. Her treatment plan is still yet unknown as the doctors first need to make sure they remove everything first before deciding upon the next step. So she has so many questions, not a lot of answers, and she has a small family upon whom to lean. While I can’t be there, I knew I wanted to make sure she knew she was loved and prayed for daily. And as I sat in worship a few weeks ago by myself, I started thinking about how alone she must feel going through all of this diagnosis, treatment, and surgery. I looked over and saw the Pew Bear and paused to think how this pew bear could be with her in those alone moments, and I decided to ship her one. She has received the pew bear and loved it. Here was her text response: “Thank you so much for the pew bear. I absolutely love it. My big challenge has been keeping it away from the dogs. LOL. I appreciate your support and friendship. It means a lot.” I am so grateful that my church has a ministry that helps me to reach out to my worried, sick friend. God bless those who help with this ministry!
