God Blesses You!

The Spirit led my son to call his grandmother and do FAITH5 over the phone with her since he hadn’t seen her in a while.  It was a blessing all the way around to share highs and lows, read God’s word together, talk and pray.  My son and my mother talked about their day and how…

Career Day

I was at career day at Bethel-Hanberry Elementary sharing Jesus’ love with so many interested students!  And right there in the midst of it, the Spirit led some high school students to me and we sang “Sanctuary” in 4 part harmony!  “Lord lift our voices…”, and the Lord did it!!  What a blessed day!!

Pew Bear

An omnipresent God is everywhere, even in the pew bear that recently traveled to Birmingham Alabama. God put it on my heart to send the little brown bear to a Down syndrome young adult who was in the hospital, waiting for a decision from the doctor whether to operate or let the wound heal. The…

Maps would have labels that said things such as:  “Here be dragons”; “Here be demons”; “Here be sirens”. It was a common thing to see, the mapping of one’s fears.…

Knit 3 Purl 3 – repeat …

This is the pattern for making a prayer shawl. I thought I could do it, just cast on 54 stitches and start. I read the instructions and the printed prayers for the shawl and quickly said a prayer; praying that I could remember how to knit. The counting takes all of my concentration and although…

FAITH5

My family and I started doing Faith 5 together as part of the bedtime routine.  My wife and I have two kids, 3 and 20 months.  The four of us pile on the futon in our upstairs gathering area, read a few books, and then start Faith 5.  Though we have only been doing this…
